Miriam Alía

Interior designer

We sneak into Miriam Alía's house: a place full of joy and dynamism, which perfectly reflects the style that characterises her so much.

Why did you choose The Masie? What is it about The Masie that most appeals to you?

MIRIAM ALÍA

The Masie is a brand that I keep in mind when looking for inspiration for a project. Their products are innovative, with daring and different pieces that bring a unique touch to my projects.

What inspires you about our furniture?

MIRIAM ALÍA

The Masie's furniture inspires me because of its fresh and casual feel. This aesthetic reflects a modern and dynamic approach that fits perfectly with current trends.

This furniture brings a touch of vitality and optimism to environments, which is essential for creating spaces that are full of energy and pleasant for users.

Do you think your style is based on your personality and is an extension of it?

MIRIAM ALÍA

Absolutely. I think that when you design you are reflecting yourself in some way, leaving part of your essence in that project. I consider myself a cheerful and dynamic person, and I think they are also one of the characteristics that define my own style.

What are the corners of a house that you think need the most expressiveness and those that need the least?

MIRIAM ALÍA

I think all rooms can be quite expressive, some with smaller decorative details and others with more important elements within the room. I personally like the living room, the bathroom and the bedroom to be a clear reflection of my style, as it is where you tend to share moments and invite people, like the living room, or more intimate and private places like the bedroom, where I think it is very important to feel it is completely yours.

What 3 pieces of advice would you give to someone who wants to decorate their home and doesn't know where to start?
MIRIAM ALÍA

First of all, they should start by 1. analysing their style, 2. their needs, their day-to-day life and 3. look for inspiration. And once you have answered these questions, the rest will follow.

How do you see the future of interior design? And speaking of the future, tell us about some of your projects for the coming year.

MIRIAM ALÍA

The future of interior design is bright and eager to be a design of experiences, people increasingly value experiences and senses. So focusing on generating sensations in people is one of the challenges of the future of interior design. Another aspect that is coming on strong is 3D design and immersive experiences, something I will be telling you about soon.

Tell us a project that you would love to carry out, a dream to fulfil...

MIRIAM ALÍA

I have many dreams to fulfil, I think that's the essence of staying active, wanting to improve, learn and live new experiences. But if I had to highlight one dream in particular, I think it would be to design a hotel in a unique landscape.

This year we met at Casa Decor 2023, and we loved the space you designed. Are you happy with the project? Will we see you in 2024?

MIRIAM ALÍA

I am very happy that you loved the project, we are very happy with how the project turned out, it was a pleasure to work with Bang&Olufsen because their product and variety allowed us to create a dream space. Casa Decor is an event not to be missed!
